1986 - Legends house ad

  1. I remember Legends as being muddled. Poor Vibe got murdered as part of the JLA reboot tied into this. And Byrne could not make up his mind how old Billy Batson was supposed to be! The story never made any sense to me, the D.C. public turning on heroes just seemed way off. This is a place with a Flash Museum and where Superman is the idol of all!

  2. I thought it was very smart, and man did I love John Byrne growing up. He could do no wrong. Darkseid, tons of DC characters, John Byrne and it was just fine by me.

  3. Byrne's Superman was the first time I had followed a creator rather than a comics character. And he didn't disappoint in my humble opinion. I'll have to add this miniseries to my review queue and revisit it.

  4. @Matt Celis:
It's been awhile since I've read Legends, but if I'm not mistaken, Glorious Godfrey was using his powers and "pushing" people in to hating and mistrusting heroes.

And with human nature, it doesn't take much to push someone from worshiping someone to crucifying them. We love to build our heroes up so we can tear them down.....
